Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This policy explains how Learn with BYA uses cookies and similar technologies (like browser storage), and the control you have over them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. Similar technologies — such as your browser’s local storage — work the same way. They let a site remember things between requests, like keeping you signed in.
2. How we use them
- Essential session cookies. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets cookies that keep you logged in and secure your session. The app cannot function without these.
- Browser storage for preferences. We use your browser’s local storage for small conveniences — for example, remembering lessons you’ve saved. This stays on your device.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and we don’t sell data gathered through cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies:
- Google — during sign-in and YouTube subscription verification.
- YouTube — when a lesson video is embedded or played, YouTube may set cookies under its own policy.
- Paystack — during checkout, where paid plans are enabled.
These are governed by those providers’ own cookie and privacy policies.
4. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Note that blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in or using the app, since they’re required for it to work.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data more broadly.
